But let's get something straight; it isn't me that makes this stuff happen. It is you. With renewed spirit and attitude it is the West Downtown Neighborhood Association, the new and current investors of the Renaissance District, the tenants and homeowners of the neighborhood, it's the City of Danville. It is everyone who seems to be climbing on the bandwagon. It's hard to blame them, good things are happening in the West Downtown Renaissance District. Things are happening. What things? What does that mean? Making good things happen is the key. Small positive steps taken by many people on many fronts make the difference. Wow, it does sound like there is a lot going on in the West Downtown Renaissance District. Tell me more It is good to see your attitude change with knowledge of the progress. Knowledge is power they say. There is still much to do. As with this kind of project, this one is far from complete and in fact will require constant work and attention. After all it was neglect and complacency that allowed these problems to become so overwhelming. One last announcement. For those of you who live in the West Downtown Renaissance District your opportunity is coming. On Saturday September 15, 2001 in the vacant lot north of the Fire Station on Oak Street, the West Downtown Neighborhood Association and Renaissance Danville will host a neighborhood clean up and picnic. The Clean-up starts at 9:00 am and the picnic will start around 11:00 am. We want for this to be an opportunity for you to meet your neighbors and become active in your neighborhood association. OK, I'm climbing aboard too. This is already improving my typically poor attitude. Thanks, I'm going to add you to my list of positive developments too. Return to Articles
